It infects around 20 million people, per year.
Hundreds and Hundreds of Thousands of hospitalizations. Especially dangerous to children, and anyone with a compromised immune system.
Severe vomiting, body aches, fever, inflammation of organs. Dehydration.
There’s no vaccine. Experts recommend hand washing and physical distancing as the best way to slow the spread.
It’s not CoronaVirus. It’s NoroVirus.
Florida schools have handled viral outbreaks many times.
A couple of years ago in Jacksonville, at Creekside High School. For a period of a few days, only 539 of the 2,300 student body showed up.
Norovirus was spreading, kids were very sick. Some kids were fine, but opted to avoid the school, fearing infection.
Google any schools in your area along with influenza, norovirus, H1N1, etc….
The data says there are many other diseases that have a much bigger risk to our kids than Covid19.
Where were the teachers unions during H1N1? Why don’t advocacy groups sue the government when Norovirus breaks out at school? (Rhetorical, of course)
What if the data actually says that NoroVirus poses a wider threat to kids?
What if it’s OK to have the choice either stay home and learn online, OR attend school with other students and teachers who are happy to be there?
And that’s just it, you’ve always had the choice to choose whats’ safe and not safe for your kids. Many parents home-school, for many different reasons. Some good, some probably not so good.
My point is that going to school is healthy, but the process of being at school (or any large gathering) has never been totally safe. Ever.
What the hell on Earth is actually 100% safe?
