2020 Strikes Again!
Floridians, from all over the state, are receiving packages with seeds. SEEDS?! Mustard, Cabbage and all types of plants.
The Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried released a statement: “anyone receiving these suspicious seed packets should not open them, should not plant them, should limit contact with them, and should report them immediately to both our department and USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) officials.” Who would actually plant seeds that mysteriously showed up in your mailbox? (See our ‘Nutbags North of Florida’ section for possible answers)
The packaging had Chinese symbols and mentioned “China Post.”
I’ve seen some great conspiracy theories about the seeds; Cure for Covid19 sent by exiled Chinese doctors, An environmental weapon that unleashes bacteria in the ground so we can’t grow food (I’m thinking of Stranger Things when that crud kills all of the pumpkins), and some type of Government tracking herb that shows up in blood tests. All of these way more exciting than reality. Which is, another BRUSHING scam.
Here’s how Wikipedia describes “Brushing”: Brushing is a deceitful technique sometimes used in e-commerce to boost a seller’s ratings by creating fake orders. A seller can do this by paying someone a small amount to place a fake order, or just using another person’s information to place an order themselves.
Some shady seed company in China just trying to climb the ranks of Amazon. Like I said, 2020 Strikes Again!
